Carrie is the Executive Director of the William G. Pomeroy Foundation. With 41 years of experience as a fundraising professional, Carrie previously served as President of the Crouse Health Foundation. During her 28 years with Crouse, she also was Corporate Vice President for Philanthropy of the Health Alliance of CNY.
At Crouse, Berse oversaw the operations of the hospital foundations. In her multifaceted executive role, she was also instrumental in many highly successful fundraising campaigns in support of key services and programs, including the Pomeroy Emergency Services Department, the Pomeroy College of Nursing, and most recently, the Pomeroy Treatment Center.
Carrie holds a B.F.A. from Adelphi University and is a graduate of the Leadership Greater Syracuse program. She also is a member of the Association for Fundraising Professionals and has volunteered with many community organizations.
Among her professional recognitions, she is a recipient of the BizEventz/CNY Business Journal’s 40 Under 40 and Women in Business Awards, the National Council of Jewish Women’s Hannah Solomon Award, The Post-Standard “Person of Achievement” Award, and the Fund-Raising Professional of the Year Award from the CNY Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals.
