The Delaware Company will host a dedication ceremony on Wednesday, April 24 for the Historic Transportation Canal Marker commemorating the D&H Canal. This is the first marker dedication for the Historic Transportation Canals Marker Grant Program. The marker is located at the NYS DEC fishing access point on Route 97 in the Town of Highland. It’s about 1 mile upriver from Barryville, NY, just below Cedar Rapids Kayak & Canoe. The dedication will precede the D&H Transportation Heritage Council’s quarterly meeting. If there is extra time following the dedication, there may be self-guided tours of Roebling’s Delaware Aqueduct.
