Bill is the founder and former owner of CXtec & TERACAI, two technology companies in Syracuse, New York. Bill has received Entrepreneur of the Year awards from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Syracuse University, and Ernst & Young.

Bill is the founder and former owner of CXtec & TERACAI, two technology companies in Syracuse, New York. Bill has received Entrepreneur of the Year awards from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Syracuse University and Ernst & Young. He is a recipient of the Central New York Sales & Marketing Executives Crystal Ball Award. Bill also received the Courage Award from the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Central New York and is the recipient of the Crouse Health Foundation Tribute Award, along with his wife, Sandra.
Bill presently serves on the Board of the New York Genealogical & Biographical Society. He is a First Connection Volunteer for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and a Caring Connection Volunteer for BMT InfoNet. Bill is a former member of the Board and Executive Committee for the National Marrow Donor Program as well as the Onondaga Historical Association. Bill also served as a member of the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute’s Lally School Advisory Council. He is Trustee Emeritus for the Erie Canal Museum, The Salvation Army of Syracuse and the Be The Match® Foundation.
Bill earned his Master of Business Administration in Marketing from the Wharton School at University of Pennsylvania and his Bachelor of Science in Management Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
Alongside his charitable and community activities, Bill’s personal interests include amateur radio, travel and adventure, genealogy, collecting coins, stamps, recorded music and mainframe computers.

Deryn Pomeroy

The daughter of William G. Pomeroy, Deryn brings over 15 years of nonprofit experience to her role as a Trustee. She previously served as the Foundation’s Director of Strategic Initiatives.

The daughter of William G. Pomeroy, Deryn brings over 15 years of nonprofit experience to her role as a Trustee. She previously served as the Foundation’s Director of Strategic Initiatives. She was responsible for the national rollout of several key historical marker initiatives, including Hungry for History® and Legends & Lore®, as well as developing new partnerships for grantmaking opportunities across the United States.
Deryn’s career began as an Outreach Case Manager for pregnant and parenting teenagers at The Salvation Army in her hometown of Syracuse, N.Y. Following several years, she served for six years as Assistant Director of Admissions at Syracuse University and presided on review committees for the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications and Whitman School of Management. Subsequently, Deryn accepted the offer of a two-year stint at The Common Application headquarters in Arlington, V.A., outside of Washington, D.C.
Deryn earned a M.S. in Secondary Education with honors from Niagara University in Lewiston, N.Y. and a B.A. in Spanish Language & Literature from The George Washington University in Washington, D.C. She is a proud board member of the Central New York PBS affiliate WCNY and nmdp, which manages the largest and most diverse bone marrow registry in the world. Deryn enjoys volunteering in the local community as a member of the Junior League of Syracuse.

Laura is a tax lawyer specializing in planning and executing global business expansions, and building strategic business alignment with ever-changing global laws. Her work includes enabling corporate charitable giving. She has experience at Treasury, "Big Law,” banking, and Amazon.

Laura graduated with a law degree (JD) and LLM in Tax from New York University (NYU) in New York City where she was one of two to receive NYU’s Tax Policy Fellowship. She graduated with a double major in Russian and Computer Science from the George Washington University in Washington, D.C. She speaks conversational Russian and basic Spanish. Laura’s interests outside of work include her children, travel, fitness, and health and medical research.

Paula Miller

Paula served as the William G. Pomeroy Foundation's Executive Director from its founding in 2005 through 2021. She is also the former Director of the Office of the CEO at CXtec.

Before joining CXtec, Paula was employed by the Gannett Foundation. The Foundation makes contributions to qualified nonprofit organizations to improve education, health, and advancement of people who live in Gannett communities.
Paula is a member of the Annual Support/Marketing Committee for The Salvation Army of the Syracuse area and is on the Crouse Hospital Auxiliary Board. In addition, she is a graduate of Leadership Greater Syracuse Class of 2000, was the recipient of the 2002 Business Partnership Leader of the Year Award from Partners in Education in Business, and was honored in 2007 with a Woman in Business Award. In 2009 Paula was awarded a ‘Can Do’ Award from The Salvation Army for demonstrating an extraordinary commitment to helping serve people in need. In January 2009, the William G. Pomeroy Foundation received a Spirit of Caring Award from The United Way of Central New York for providing Bone Marrow Drives to the CNY community.

Bill is the Executive Director of the William G. Pomeroy Foundation. Prior to his appointment, he was the longest-serving advancement VP in Le Moyne College history, completing a $100M campaign and creating the ERIE21 Program.

Bill Brower serves as Executive Director of the William G. Pomeroy Foundation where he ensures the foundation’s activities and programs are aligned with its mission and long-term vision. His responsibilities include strategic planning, grant making and impact measurement, financial management, external relations, compliance and governance, and staff development.
One of the largest foundations in Central New York, the Pomeroy Foundation is committed to supporting the celebration and preservation of community history; and working to improve the probability of finding appropriate donor matches or other life-saving treatments for blood cancer patients. The foundation is the nation’s leading funder of premium, cast aluminum historical markers with more than 2,600 grants awarded in 49 states and Washington, D.C. since 2006.
Before joining the Pomeroy Foundation, he worked in educational advancement, the last decade at Le Moyne College as vice president of advancement and special assistant to the president for strategic partnerships and workforce innovation.
The longest-serving advancement vice president in Le Moyne’s history, Bill completed a $100 million comprehensive campaign. Through his leadership, the number of volunteers actively engaged with the college increased 10-fold, he led the effort to diversify Le Moyne’s Board of Trustees and other volunteer bodies, and he managed Marketing and Communications and Career Advising and Development.
Bill created Le Moyne’s ERIE21 (Educating for our Rising Innovation Economy) program, which has served over 2,500 individuals who are underrepresented in technology careers and attracted over $10 million in support. As special assistant to the president, he developed Le Moyne’s relationship with Micron, representing the college on Micron’s Future Ready Workforce Innovation Consortium and Northeast University Semiconductor Network which includes Princeton, Harvard, MIT, and many other internationally known institutions.
Before Le Moyne, Brower was VP of Advancement and President of the Foundation Board at SUNY Geneseo. Prior to that, he served in various fundraising and alumni engagement leadership roles at Hamilton College in Clinton, NY, during three comprehensive capital campaigns that brought over $500 million in gifts.
A cum laude graduate of Hamilton College, Bill earned a CFP certificate from Boston University, attended Harvard Divinity School, and earned his MS in Positive Organizational Development and Change from the Weatherhead School of Management at Case Western Reserve University. Bill has served on Boards of Trustees at the Montessori School of Syracuse, Christian Brothers Academy, and Catholic Charities of Onondaga County, and currently serves on the Board of the Central New York Community Foundation.
