Anna Cadogan Etz (1863-1953), a lifelong Hornell resident, was the founder of the Hornell Equality League of Self-Supporting Women and an active member of the New York State Woman Suffrage Association. She gave speeches, attended rallies and wrote newspaper columns that helped women gain the right to vote in New York State.
