This property on the Hudson River was purchased by John Green circa 1819. Green was born in 1772 and was the owner and captain of a sloop transporting lumber, produce and other goods on the Hudson River. In 1826, Green, along with several other men, organized the Nyack Steam Boat Association, which operated at least one steamboat out of Nyack. In 1830 he was named a trustee of the Orange Turnpike – known as Nyack Turnpike. John Green died in 1842.
