WILLIAM G. POMEROY FOUNDATION 2024

In the town of Warwick in Orange County, New York, a local legend is told of the hidden treasure of Claudius Smith, an infamous loyalist horse thief and robber that was active in the area during the American Revolution. Legend has it that Smith hid some of his loot in what have come to be known as the Cat Rocks Caves. While several have sought out the treasure over the ensuing decades, no trace of it has ever been found and only the story remains.
