Breslau Cemetery (also known as Lindenhurst Cemetery) was incorporated in 1875. Just one year later, in October 1876, the Breslau Cemetery Association sold a half-acre plot in its northeast section to local Jewish community members for $135. This transaction laid the groundwork for what is now considered the oldest extant example of Jewish communal gathering on Long Island.

As the community grew, so did its organizational structure. The grounds have been maintained by several stewards over the years. In 1887, the Breslau Hebrew Cemetery Association was formally established to manage the site. The cemetery was deeded to the Lindenhurst Hebrew Congregation in 1934. Management shifted again in 2006, when Congregation Beth El took control of the cemetery following a congregational merger. After a subsequent merger in 2016, the cemetery was obtained by Congregation Beth Ohr. This congregation currently owns the property.

With burials dating back to 1887, the cemetery remains in continuous use today. It holds more than 250 interments.
