This site commemorates two local businesses: the Mora Motor Car and Halligan Fine Furniture. Samuel H. Mora, a former sales manager at Kodak, established the Mora Motor Car Company in Newark. The company manufactured a Touring Car, a Roadster and the Browniekar, a small sized child’s automobile. However, the company files for involuntary bankruptcy and the plant was sold in November of 1911. Hallagan Fine Furniture, originally of Canastota, N.Y., moved into the empty car plant in 1913 and continues to operate today.
