North Creek High School was constructed to relieve overcrowding at the old wood frame Union School completed in 1897 which stood on this site. The North Creek population was growing and the town had to use ancillary buildings to accommodate the upper classes, necessitating a new and larger school building. In 1946, the last of the local school districts, some still with one-room schoolhouses, closed and consolidated into the Johnsburg Central School District. Additions to the original North Creek High School building were added in 1953, 1963, 1996 and 2006. As of 2025, the school housed kindergarten through 12th grade classes.
