Strykersville Pioneer Cemetery is the final resting place of the community’s early residents with burials dating to ca. 1811. By 1825, the land was conveyed to the Town of Sheldon to formally establish a burying ground. Among those buried here are at least four veterans of the Revolutionary War, including Joseph Barber, Jacob Franciseus (Franciscus), Jacob Turner, and Omri Warner as well as one veteran of the War of 1812, Garrett Stryker. The last known burial was recorded in 1872 and as of 2022, Strykersville Pioneer Cemetery is no longer an active cemetery.
