By 1810, a landing was located here along the Hudson River. It was operated by Reed and Powell Transportation in 1851 and then by Reed, Barker & Kirkland in 1891. Local produce and passengers departed for New York City and other destinations from the docks located here. Steamboats docked here and there was also a ferry landing.
