The Village Cemetery was established in 1802 by the Eastern Society of Marcellus. Encompassing 2.7 acres, it is the final resting place for many veterans, including those who served in the Revolutionary War, War of 1812, Mexican War, Civil War, World War I, and World War II. While the last burial occurred around 1986, the old Village Cemetery still endures as permanent memorial for the early residents and military veterans who have called the Village of Marcellus home.
