Patriot Burials: Ormsbee Cemetery Marker and the First Rhode Island Regiment

In this episode of A New York Minute in History, we hear the story of Isaac Ormsbee, a Revolutionary War veteran recognized on one of the Pomeroy Foundation’s “Patriot Burials” historical markers, as well as the experiences of the First Rhode Island Regiment during the American Revolution. Alongside this, co-hosts Devin Lander and Lauren Roberts also interview Dr. Shirley L. Green, author of Revolutionary Blacks: Discovering the Frank Brothers, Freeborn Men of Color, Soldiers of Independence, and Eric Schnitzer, the Saratoga National Historical Park ranger and military historian, to hear their stories regarding the Regiment and importance of the Saratoga area during the Revolution.
