One of the oldest camps in the United States, Camp Cory began in 1892 with a camping party that continued in several locations until 1920 when the land was acquired on Keuka Lake, just south of the Village of Penn Yan. The camp was named for and dedicated to Lieutenant Lawrence Cory, who served during World War I and was killed in action in France. The camp is still active and serves many children each year.
