Clarksburg is a hamlet in the southeast part of the Town of Eden on a branch of Eighteen Mile Creek. Named after Simeon Clark, Clarksburg was established around 1819. Clark built a grist mill, a saw mill and a shop for making spinning wheels. The first school was established sometime near 1839.
