WILLIAM G. POMEROY FOUNDATION 2022

In 1912 the Buffalo, Rochester & Pittsburgh Railway established a freight depot on this site. A freight house constructed in that year by the company, along with the sidings, was later operated by the B&O Railroad. In 1960 the B&O’s application to retire the freight depot was granted by the federal government, although the sidings were required to remain active (secondary sources say the sidings were abandoned in 1962). The freight house was razed by its private owner in December 2020.
