The C.A. Robeson General Store, operated by two generations of the Robeson family, served the Vine Valley community on Canandaigua Lake from 1898 until 1984. Over the years, Vine Valley had transitioned from an agricultural community to a summer resort community. When the store closed in 1984, it was purchased by the Town of Middlesex and preserved until being leased by Fred and Beth Muller. In the summer of 2018, the general store reopened under the name of Vine Valley General Store.
