The name, Goose Street, is reported to go back to the early 1900s when the Otsego County Fair was located in Cooperstown. It’s said that Goose Street was the shortest route to march gaggles of geese from Fly Creek to the fair that was about three miles away. Other livestock and poultry also took the route from Fly Creek to Cooperstown.
