Hubbard Hall opened its doors in November of 1878. The building held between 600 and 700 people. In early February 1894 a meeting of Washington County suffragists was held here over several days. During the convention famed suffragist Susan B. Anthony spoke to full house.

As of 2020, the building serves as a community arts center and is home base to the Hubbard Hall Opera Theater, The Theater Company and the Battenkill Chorale.
