St. Mary Catholic Church 

St. Mary Catholic Church opened on Maryland Street in 1858 to serve the increasing German immigrant population. The congregation grew and moved to a larger church here in 1912. In addition to Mass, baptisms, and Weddings, St. Mary offered charity events and concerts, serving as the spiritual and cultural center of the German Catholic community for decades.
