Maple Grove Cemetery is the final resting place for the community’s early residents with burials dating to 1816. The cemetery was later incorporated in 1856. Among those buried here is Col. Warner Abbott, who served the Town of Otisco for several decades in his capacity as Justice of the Peace, Democratic County Convention delegate, Overseer of the Poor, and Trustee of Maple Grove Cemetery. He also represented Onondaga County as a NYS Assemblyman in 1844. Secondary sources note that Col. Abbott also served in the military in the 1830s and later helped train soldiers during the Civil War. He was buried here following his death on July 20, 1867. As of 2022, Maple Grove remained an active cemetery.
