The young men of the rural Town of Ossian enlisted in the military during World War I; one lost his life while serving his country. The Ossian community, a small rural town, worked together to support the war effort through Liberty Loans, War Savings Stamps, agricultural challenge, the Cadet Corps and the Red Cross, receiving a number of awards for their efforts.
